Supercake, Superday

A few weeks ago I asked Tukes what kind of cake he would like to have on his birthday. His reply... "Supercake!"

I wasn't exactly sure what supercake is so we worked together following his specific requests for, "Chocwate cake wiff icing and spwinkles and candles and a twuck and fire on it."

The boys decorated it with sprinkles and every birthday candle in the house {20 to be exact}. Tukes added his new truck. When it came time for the fire we only lit three candles. It was a hit.

Big Brother proudly presented Little Brother with a new toy truck over a birthday breakfast of donuts. Tukes carried it around all day, calling it his party favor, before putting it on the cake.

To make the day extra special we enjoyed Happy Meals on the McDonald's playground for lunch. This was a rare treat because the boys have a germ-a-phobic, fast-food-a-phobic mother! {Thank you, cousins, for the gift card!}

And, of course there were balloons. It was a happy, colorful, superday!

Wonderful! God bless you all in the coming year! Neat to let them go crazy on the cake creation :-)

And cute photo of his little eyes, looking over the table at his truck.

Love that cake! What a wonderful birthday. These are the sweet memory makers that children never forget. And when they are much older, they will remember and relive these special times with fondness and joy. My brothers and I love to share childhood memories and alot of times it involves alot of laughter and fun!

It sounds like a three year old's dream birthday! I was germ a phobic with the play places when my kids were little. I saw a kid get sick up inside one once, and that was it, no more.

Some of Taylor's favorite cakes were decorated with a new little car or truck. Sounds like the perfect day! :)

How beautiful... that is the grown-up response.

How fun!... the more down-to-earth response.

Happy Birthday Tukes. Enjoy being three. It won't come around again.

BTW, shouldn't every birthday cake be a Supercake?

Sound like the perfect birthday for a three year old.

I always ask my boys what kind of cake they would like for their birthdays. And I always get answers like "A rocket ship!" or "An aquarium!" or "A monkey!"

That's what I get for asking.

I think Supercake *would* help! I'm coming over. :)

Adrian made some chocolate, chocolate chip "muffins". That's helping. :) Kelly

Aww. Happy Birthday, Tukes! Adorable pictures. It reminds me about 20 years ago when my youngest son wanted a "twousers day cake" for his birthday, just like in the book "Little Bear's Trousers".

very sweet day : )

When my son was 4, he wanted a chimney cake. And a chimney for Christmas, too.

Mary Poppins chimney sweeps dancing inspired him for almost a year, everywhere we went he was a chimney sweep dancing and leaping on a London rooftop. He chipped his front tooth doing the 2-step off an icy step.

My dad made him a chimney to climb in for Christmas, too. He would go in, ascend the ladder, pop out the top, speak in Cockney ('Ello, Guv-nuh!")

LOOOVE little boys : )
