Making Do

When life gives you crumbled Lemon Pound Cake sometimes there is nothing to do but make Berry-Lemon Trifle. My cake fell apart last night coming out of the pan... no time to make another. Sometimes a girl just has to make do.

I've been running hither and yon all week. Appointments, decisions, more emotions than I care to acknowledge, and, oh yeah, there's that dinner event happening tonight... somehow I am one of the someones in charge.

It's true, the pound cake is not the only thing that has been falling apart lately; I've done my fair share this week as well. Sometimes a girl just has to make do... but His grace is sufficient for me, His power is made perfect in weakness.

You would never guess that the trifle wasn't your first intent.

Hope you have a restful weekend to recover from your busy week.

Amen..nice job on the pound cake. Isn't it nice to know that God makes something beautiful out of our seemingly messy lives, too?

oh how lovely! I LOVE trifle! Maybe you would share how you put yours together. . . .? When you're done recovering from your week, I mean :)

I needed to read that verse this morning, thank you! I am tired. I feel like "nothings" getting done when of course stuff is getting done but I only see the stuff that isn't getting done. Hang in there. The lemon-berry trifle looks amazing! Yum! Kelly

When it comes to falling apart, I'm guessing I'd be considered a pro at this point... and thus, your trifle is a beautiful reminder to me of our redeptive God.

It is amazing we serve a God who can take our crumbled up lives and present beauty.

And, I know it's not supposed to be a good strategy, but I hope you got to eat some of that gorgeous trifle. Desserts are one of my favorite comforts.

Pretty creative lady! I would have fallen apart with the cake under that timeframe. I hope that it all turned out well for ya.

We all have our moments of falling apart friend. I've had my FULL share most of this year already. Thank the Lord for his grace for it has been sufficient for me. Blessings to you! Hang in there.
