I sat outside the backdoor this evening and potted mint as dusk settled in around me. I listened to the crickets begin a twilight lullaby while the birds bid each other their final goodnights. The air was heady with nature's perfumes... fresh mint, sweet gardenia, lemony magnolia.
Drinking in fragrances and sounds, I lingered. Sometimes it is nice to be alone.

Glad you could catch a moment all to yourself. I'm sure those are rare and far between.
I used to stay up late into the night to get my alone time. I needed the time when no one talked to me more than I need the sleep.
I completely agree with Stevie. I used to, and still do, the same thing. I'm glad you have shown us your little back door steps with the pots...now I could just picture you in that spot!
That sounds delightful! I am so glad you enjoyed your time. That is a BEAUTIFUL photo.

I used to have much more of a need to be alone. Of course now my husband isn't here, the kids are grown and solitude has become a way of life for hours @ a time. I've lost my quest for stillness and started to seek out the company of others @ time, something which I used to never do despite being extroverted. What I'm trying to say is I understand completely. It's good to be alone just to rest and think and enjoy.
God puts on a good show, doesn't He?
That is one SPECTACULAR shot, MG. Very impressive.
Alone time is GOOOOOOOOOOOOD for Mom and for the kiddos!
Great shot!
