For six hours everyday Tukes and I have each other to ourselves. Considering birth order this school year may be the only time in his life when things work out this way.
Earlier this year I was considering preschool... I'm so happy to have opted for simplicity instead. I'm happy that he is happy to be at home with me. I'm happy that we have these days to play games and read books, to stop at the airport to watch the blimp, to build forts and bake muffins, to go to story time, play with friends, and visit the park. In April things will get more complicated. For now, in a special way, I will enjoy him...
And his silly songs:
"Da wise man built his blimp beside da wock..."
And our interesting lunch time conversations:
"Mommy, I don't feel good because a bone in my body died."
"Oh my, that sounds serious. How did it happen?"
"It happened after my belly got big and I had my kitten."
Clearly we have some major confusion regarding reproduction.
Clearly anything is possible when you are three.
Clearly my little sidekick is a delight... most of the time.

I miss days like that.
I had nearly six months at home with my two year old while I took a leave from work and big brother was at school. Those are some of the most precious memories I have.
I know about the sidekick. :) My little sidekick went to 1st grade this year and I'm still aching... those were invaluable days that I'll always treasure.
Oh, I wish you a wonderful seven months of your little buddy! I can't wait to hear his take on things between now and April.
Three is my absolute favorite age :)
Oh my goodness his talk made me laugh. And I hear you on "the special year"....LC is getting as close to that as possible this year as can be done and I love it.
I am in that situation right now. I love it and cherish it too. I am blessed as you are to realize what I have for this short bit of time.
What joy and delight! Making memories for you to remind him when he's older...
Christian,
I have one of those - a side kick. Right now, our conversations are minimal or at least my understanding of his words sometimes because he's two, but he is a joy to be with. I find that when I take time to really listen, there is absolutely no confusion as to what he's saying. Whenever I have to go somewhere, Canyon is always right there to go with Mommy.
Oh my word that is funny. Those are fantastic memories. You'll have to write these conversations down for him to have when he is older.
I remember those days when my firstborn was at school and I had my little boy all to myself. What precious, precious memories! School comes soon enough. Enjoy these good times.
Sounds like he's right on track to be the creative middle child! But are you sure 'have my kitten' isn't some new little boy slang for taking a poo?
Sorry, I'm the fun Auntie, and bathroom humor is my specialty! :o)
