Cozy, Rainy Day

What happens when a tropical storm blows through town bringing all manner of wind and rain? A girl and her littlest man enjoy the coziness of home all day long. Legos, games, books, hot chocolate, and a nap... it's been a nice day.

Now that big brother is home from school we've settled in with a video {the boys}, sewing {me}, homemade focaccia bread and pork ragu {dinner}, and the anticipation of tomorrow's day off from school. Sometimes a girl can't help but love a rainy day.

Sounds wonderful!

I actually remember having a toy similar to that one.

Hey, I remember that toy! My boys had one. I can remember trying to get the rings around the dolphin's nose.

Your day sounds like heaven. A nice dry cozy heaven.

Oh I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a rainy day! It makes home so cozy! We're doing the same thing here today, only it's stock boiling away on the stove, a second attempt at pumpkin biscotti (I burned the last batch...), buttermilk pies for T to take to work, and the kiddos in pajamas...ALL DAY LONG!!!

Sounds soul cleansing. Sometimes God sends these days to tell us to slow down. It works for me!

Sounds delightful. I totally agree. I love the way a soggy, gray day forces us to rest at home. I made hot chocolate, too, on Sunday when our big hike was fogged/rained out. Nice!!

how cozy and good.

We have had some of those water toys through the years, even grandpa loves to play with them. Ours is from the 1970s and actually duct=taped together to keep the suction, or pressure, or whatever is required to make it work!

I remembered those days. How I missed them...with two away in college now and the youngest always hanging out with friends...those days are a thing of the past.
