The Savior is Born

Let the stable still astonish:
Straw—dirt floor, dull eyes,
Dusty flanks of donkeys, oxen;
Crumbling, crooked walls;
No bed to carry that pain,
And then, the child,
Rag-wrapped, laid to cry
In a trough.
Who would have chosen this?
Who would have said, “Yes,
Let the God of all the heavens
And earth
Be born here, in this place?”
Who but the same God
Who stands in the darker, fouler rooms
Of our hearts and says, “Yes, let the God
Of Heaven and Earth be born here—
In this place.”
~Leslie Leyland Fields

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor,
so that you through His poverty might become rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9

...and wonders of His love,
and wonders, wonders of His love!

Margo -- It's knotted fringe on Boo's shepherd boy costume. I tossed it on the hi-fi console and was struck by how pretty the sunlight looked shining on the dangling fringe.
