The boys love nothing more than when the professor brings home a box of donuts for winter weekend breakfasts like he did this past weekend...
As for myself, well a donut is good from time to time but right now I'm enjoying fresh and healthy cooking inspiration from Kath. The whipped banana oatmeal is delish... like I could eat it every morning delish! {Don't leave out the vanilla!} Her index of healthful recipes not only leaves me inspired with new cooking ideas, but armed with fresh resolve to do a better job of shopping the perimeter of the store.
Today, however, I've got a little man with the flu. I guess it's a good thing there are a couple of donuts left to cheer him up.

Inspiring!
(Hope all are well soon.)
I'll admit it. I, too, love doughnuts from breakfast. However, since there is not a decent place to buy doughtnuts in this entire town, I haven't had a single one in 7 months.
I am going to check out some of Kath's recipes. Always looking for yummy, healthy ideas.
I enjoy Kath's blog daily. I try to get my meals as balanced as hers.
I hope your little guy is feeling better soon.
Well, I probably would have had the oatmeal AND a couple of doughnuts! ha!
Hope the flu boy is better soon!
That oatmeal looks delicious! And...thanks for sharing that site! I can't wait to peruse through her recipes!
thanks for the link to the fascinating cereal. I looked at some more of her cereal recipes - I want to try some. We love oatmeal around here, but it's the same all the time.
Hope your little guy is better soon.
poor little buddy!
those square donuts look really fun! Kelly
Margo -- I agree. We eat a lot of oatmeal around here and it can get kind of repetitive. I'm thankful for some fresh inspiration in that department. Did you see the recipe for carrot cake oatmeal?! Yum!
This morning I made whipped banana oatmeal (again!) but I stirred in a glob of crunchy peanut butter and a about 1/2 tsp. of honey. Oh my goodness, it was SO good!
This is amazing! (Eating it right now.) I had to tell the children I didn't "spank" the bananas, hence the "whipped" banana oatmeal. :)
wow modgirl! that oatmeal was out of this world, so creamy! my husband and I enjoyed a nice, warm bowl this morning while it was cold, cold outside! THaNKS again for passing along that site! I look forward to trying more of her recipes!
Thanks for the link. I'm going to check out some of her recipes.
Wow, that was a ton of oatmeal on that blog . . . WOW. It made it look delicious!
(For the record, I'm making stromboli AGAIN. I just loved that recipe so much. My house smells like Pizza Hut.)
Thanks for the link to the oatmeal. It looks heavenly! (And a great contrast to doughnuts.) I wish we could find those lovely square donuts around here.
Thanks for the link to Katheats, I can't believe that ode to oatmeal. I mean I love oatmeal, but had to stop looking at some point. I also have to say it is nice to see a family that love donuts too. We try not to eat them often, but if we had cool square ones then we might more.
