A New Year

Calmly we look behind us,
on joys and sorrows past,
We know that all is mercy now,
and shall be well at last;
Calmly we look before us --
we fear no future ill,
Enough for safety and for peace
if Thou art with us still.
Jane Borthwick

In this new year...

O Father as You
did with Moses,
make all Your goodness
pass before us,
proclaim the name of the
Lord before us,
be gracious unto us and
show us compassion.
A.C. Dixon

Those sparklers look like fun! As a northerner, I'm always a bit surprised at the thought of fireworks at Christmas/New Years, as most of us up here prefer to be cuddle inside by a fire under a quilt. I'm sure your boys (and mom and dad!) had a great time with them.

I think the key word there was 'calmly'...either looking back or forward. Lovely, Christian!

Betsy -- Yes, 'calmly'... I quite agree.

Wow, I love this photo! You captured the look of celebration well and the sparklers are so festive. And photographing firecrackers is no easy task!
