For dinner tonight, our favorite corn meal waffles.
Tukes helped me mix the batter this morning.
The boys will love it.
I liked seeing the splash of colors in the laundry room.

Candlelight and shadows in the kitchen last night.

They are delightful to watch.
We might get some snow tonight!
Boo is counting on it.
The school just called... no class tomorrow!
{In the deep south even the chance of snow makes everything shut down.}

Twice-baked potatoes with dinner last night.

Twice-baked potatoes with dinner last night.
Why don't the boys like these?
But the couch is ten years old, saggy, and swiftly losing its shape.
It will not be replaced in 2010... we must finish renovations.
Showcasing the back of it seems to take away some of the curse.
Stay warm tonight.
The end.

Twice baked potatoes??! OH YUM.
Funny about the South and snow! Enjoy your snow day.
And I know what you mean about the sofa versus the renovation - we finally got new sofas last year and we love love love them. But before that it was college furniture!
And I see the patchwork pillow off in the distance in your living room pic - that is gorgeous. I've recently tried piecing triangles and it got totally wonky and I was so irritated and embarrassed. So I admire that pillow and those colors.
I've been wanting to rearrange, but I think I have the best arrangement for the room. Moving the furniture always makes everything seem new.
I was allowed to leave work an hour early today. It was just in the nick of time. By the time I reached my turn off the temp was down to 32 and the roads are wet. We are in for a deep freeze here. There was a dusting of snow on my front and back porches. Luckily the back steps weren't slippery like the front ones.
Twice-baked potatoes are my fave! We've had more snow than usual so far this winter... today's high was 12! Which means tonight is another sub-zero night... glad I made a big batch of chili last night!
Happy winter!

That cardinal is beautiful! More rearranging has gone on around here tonight too. :) I think I'm liking it but moving furniture always has a tiny bit of a disconcerting feel to me at first too. I've never had cornmeal waffles but Adrian recently made cornmeal pancakes that were DELICIOUS! I have more than one load of laundry on the couch right now . . . and another in the washer. :) Have a good night! Kelly
OH i hope it snows for y'all tonight! That's so fun!
I LOVE to rearrange. I do it all the time. I move things around several times a week.
And the renovations...hang in there! We just gutted our upstairs bathroom...which led to the guest room beside it (because the floor had issues), which led to the den below...because we've got to jack up the walls a bit. Lovely. So we spent the day ripping the ceiling down in the den. Love those renovations! :)
I'm so glad you and your guys are enjoying the waffles! Aren't they the best things ever? I must make them this weekend again. Thanks for the link. I've been enjoying a lot of new readers.
I like the couch on the diagonal. It's not cursed, it's just comfy and enjoyed! You two have the BEST sense of style.
A diagonal couch is very Mod! I like it, anyway. Love your colorful pictures.
You are an inspiration. Thank you! http://frontporchramblings.blogspot.com/2010/01/thank-you-notes.html
I think the room looks quite nice! Perhaps a funky quilt is all that is needed for display from the back of the couch. Or perhaps you will stumble upon some old rack/console table of sorts for that spot...
I like the diagonal couch. A sofa table behind it would anchor it.
Cornmeal waffles? Oh, yum! Please tell me you smother them in butter and maple syrup...
I like your credenza! I would love new couches, but they are so comfy my husband will not yield!
