oh, sibling moments like that are The Best. I expect more as kids get older. . . And I will have to look up that book at the libary - we haven't come across it, but I like your taste in books in general :)
Margo -- Mouse Soup is very much a beginner reader's book. I think our library has it classified as a level 2 book, which is perfect for my first grader to read aloud to his brother. It was written by the same author who wrote the Frog and Toad books, if you are familiar with those. I expect that your children are already at a listening comprehension level that is higher than this book, just as Tukes is, but they could still enjoy it. Definitely keep it in mind for when your daughter starts reading on her own.
This is my first time commenting at your blog....I've been reading for about a year now! The way you portray life as a mother and wife is just lovely...and your photos are spectacular! This photo of your boys reading is very sweet :).
ah, of course, we have Frog and Toad. So now I know where to place that. My daughter memorizes books right now and "reads" to her brother and he loves it. Now I need to capture it on film, like you did!
I do like Arnold Lobel. What a sweet picture. I got to listen to a "special needs" student reading aloud today and it was just priceless. In my classroom of the school I don't often get to hear kids reading aloud and it is a joy. Kelly

Brothers reading together is the sweetest reward of motherhood! I love it!

That is soooo sweet!
Your boys are so very cute! I look forward to when John's reading is a little smoother and can hold Finn's attention.

Ah, and this is why parents look back on these young years with such fondness.
Such beauty to behold.
I have fond memories of my kids and Mouse Soup. They LOVED it!! I think I still have a copy on the shelf here.
