This is what my guys and I have been working on over the past 24 hours: simple store-bought lollipops tagged with hearts cut from card stock... little Valentine treats for the boys to share with friends over the next few days.
Last year I was busy creating marshmallow bouquets, truffle-a-blooms, and hot chocolate goodie bags and, oh, it was fun! This year seems to be my time to learn {once again} that sometimes ultra-simple is not just good enough but very best of all.

Cute! I've been thinking about my school days and our Valentine parties today. Your boys will have so much fun. I think the giving and receiving of homemade cards is the best.
I don't know why I'm not a good V's day person. I stared at my children blankly when asked about taking valentines to school. Wish I had see this post first. Cute, simple, classy. I think I make things to hard on myself!
Perfection.
Those are very, very cute! :)
sweet and simple.
The colors are so sweet.
Christian,
Good job on realizing that simple sometimes works best even though we want to do something extra-special cool. Ultra-simple worked really well for me this year too. I still want to kick myself for waiting until the last minute, but at least we finished. All we did for a party I knew about for at least one month was put a few store bought candies, a hand-cut out heart card, and one home-made baked sugar cookie heart in a plastic bag. It was sealed w/a heart sticker. Not too original or cute, but they let us in the party :).
This is so cheery and cute and fresh. I'm so glad I stopped to read!
