As newlyweds we lived in central Ohio. In those days a typical Friday night included ice cream and book browsing. It didn't take long to convince us that Graeter's is the best ice cream on the continent.
It's been seven loooong years since such decadence crossed our lips. On Mother's Day Eve the professor found it at our local Kroger. After expressing his exuberance to the cashier he paid ten dollars for two pints {totally worth it!}, brought it home, and together we dove into Toffee-Chip heaven.

That is my definition of romantic!
I love being loved so thoughtfully like that. Heartwarming sharing, thank you.
That is awesome! Finding a well-loved food item unexpectedly available again is such a happy occasion :).
Well, well!! A culinary delight of which I was sadly unaware! I'll have to look for it now and try it.
It's at our Kroger, too! I always think of you when I see it. Yum! I remembered Toffee Chip was your fave. :) I bet his eyes popped out when he saw it in the grocery! ha.
I've heard of such treats but don't suppose they'd ship to southern California. My favorite comes in the form of gelato.
Yes, Graeter's is fantastic! I used to go to school in the neighborhood and would head there after school for sundaes. I live in NYC now and one day at my office we had Graeter's brought in by a vendor. It was a little bit of Columbus in NYC and I was so excited! No one else had even heard of it =)
What!? They have Graters at Krogers!! I hope they have it at the Fry's in AZ when I go to visit!
I've never heard of it, but will have to now go looking.... There's nothing better than ice cream on a hot summer night!
We were in Ohio a few weeks ago and that was my one "have to" while we were there - Graeters! It was yummy!

Mmmmm, chocolate chunk! I grew up in Cincinnati and still have some when I go "home."
ahhh! I can just imagine y'all's excitement! It sounds like us in our exuberance over food, ice cream in particular. :) I am so sorry to have not thought to mention to you that at least some Krogers were carrying it. One of the teachers at my school had told me. But then if I had you wouldn't have had this lovely, hero husband, mother's day eve happiness! Kelly
