Making my way down the hall I paused at Baby Sister's bedroom door with a listening ear when my eyes fell on a new view of the dining room. After five years of living in this house I thought I had noticed all there was to be seen within these walls, but {just as in life} a fresh new perspective from time to time can surprise and delight.

How right you are. I need a fresh perspective tonight.
Sometimes I play a little game where I pretend I am a visitor to my house - that's always funny and insightful to me.
Is that a mirror or a cut through window on your wall?
Margo -- What a good idea to try to see your home through a visitor's eyes. I'm going to try that, maybe today. I'm a little afraid of what I'll notice!
We have a cut through at the end of our hall that peeps into the living and dining space. We sort of re-routed that end of our hallway several years ago and added that wall. The professor did the cut out as a way of allowing a bit of natural light into the hall.
Your gray walls are so clean and classy! LOVE THEM!
very clean and calming! Kelly
Isn't that so true? Love the light and lines and orderly contrast of this photo!
New perspective can seem intimidating before it's achieved ... but so refreshing and appreciated once captured.
Well, when I look at my house with visitor's eyes it does motivate me to clean or declutter sometimes :)
Your professor is a good designer, inviting the light in like that.
