I believe if I were charged with having a goal, it would be to live without fretting, to live more fully in the moment, not always huffing about as I’ve done in recent years… to live humbly, and appreciatively, with whatever God furnishes. from Light From Heaven by Jan Karon
Here's to living humbly and appreciatively in 2011.
Happy New Year, my friends!

What a delightful quote. I love Jan Karon - recently saw her speak at my church.
Happy New Year!
Now THAT is a perfect goal. Just perfect! And what a beautiful photo! I hope you have a wonderful 2011, dear Christian!
I love Jan Karon - as always, she is right on the mark.
What/where is that little house? Beautiful photo! I think of you so often as I struggle with my new camera, how you started your blog to learn to use your then-new camera. I wish you were my nearby friend :) so you could give me some pointers.
Margo -- Isn't that little chapel quaint?! It's actually a potting shed and it's located just around the corner and up the road from our house. It's set down in a bit of a gully at the edge of a small pond on a pretty little piece of undeveloped property. Actually, if the owners of the the property and the home that sits on the hill overlooking it ever put it up for sale the professor and I would be very, very interested.
As for camera struggles, when I find the time I'll send you some links to helpful photography resources. Do you use a Canon or a Nikon? I can't remember. The first setting that I recommend adjusting is ISO, once you get that down start adjusting white balance as well, eventually move on to aperture priority or shutter priority, but first just work on perfecting your ISO setting.
How beautiful. How perfect. And how adoptable!
Much more eloquent than my own resolution: less complaining, more gratitude! Happy New Year to all.
ah Father Tim. I love those books. What a little fairytale spot. It would be neat if you got it someday. Kelly
Happy New Year to you too and I couldn't agree more with the quote you selected!
PS...the photo on your latest post is adorable, especially the orange tint on her nose. Who needs makeup when carrots do the trick!
Perfect sentiments.
I'm reading that series again (third time is a charm). Wonderful goal and wonderful books to ponder and relax with. :)
