Out of curiosity, how many orchids do you have, and how long have you been growing them? They are such interesting flowers.
Val -- This is my fifth orchid; sadly, the four others have all met their demise. I fell in love with orchids about 5 years ago when our neighbors, who were moving away, passed one along to me. With a little TLC I was able to get it to bloom for two years in a row, then it died. It seems my orchids last about 2 years before they start to shrivel. I'm sure there's a lot I could do to make them last longer -- I have much to learn. Our pediatrician, a fellow orchid lover, gives me tips.
