Brothers Being Brothers

************

I'm still counting with thanksgiving...

431. Baby's happy endurance through a long morning of activities.

432. The professor's thoughtfulness in calling to warn me about bad weather rolling into town... and his reminder for me to put up the windows in my car!

433. A wet, rainy afternoon... at home with books.

434. The backed up sewer line, which means I took a mandatory break from laundry today.

435. Watching Big Brother gently guide Sister away from the potentially harmful things that she loves.

So what books did you read while it rained?

Laura -- The boys and I are loving Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh right now. I'm reading it aloud to them and I've been letting them stay up later than usual just so that I can keep reading to find out what happens next. So, that's what we read on a rainy afternoon, along with Little Brother's current favorite picture books -- Wheels by Shirley Hughes (he loves all the Trotter Street books), Knuffle Bunny Too, and a couple of Bill Peet books (the boys never tire of those). It was a good afternoon for reading.

Pillow fights and pillow forts...classic boy moments! I loved your post on Sunday. The torn leaf was so memorable.

Oh the joy of backed up sewers. :) It does make one relax in a sort of way though sort of having to "rough it". Simplifies things somehow. I am going to copy and paste your comment about about the books into my little reading list for later on. :) Kelly

p.s. love the photo. :)
