We've settled into an easy-going, summer rhythm. The easy-going part... that is the beauty of summer.

There have been swimming lessons... a lot of swimming lessons. My reluctant swimmer has made so much progress!

We've enjoyed simple meals and time to play with our friends...

Friends that are human and non-human. {The professor and I agree, the best kind of dog to have right now is one that lives on the other side of the fence!}

Sometimes I sit on the bench in the shade of the oak tree and...

...watch Sister climb. Then I rescue the little girl who fancies herself stuck whilst standing on a table top... or a picnic basket... or a shelf... or a step ladder... or a chair.

She is always climbing.

Of course, housekeeping never ends.

The professor has had a heavy teaching load but he's finding time to prep the boys for an adventure coming later this summer!

Legos are a part of daily life.

And, speaking of ducks... I'm plotting a little sewing project.

We do a bit of daily schoolwork.

Yes, I'm one of those moms... but then we stay up late reading books.

And, there are more messes and fingerprints than I care to publicly acknowledge!

Next week I'm looking forward to capturing the colors of summer, finishing swimming lessons, driving Big Brother to camp, and, hopefully, doing a bit of sewing.

My favorite photo is the one of Baby Girl climbing in the kitchen...
We sure have enjoyed our extra time with you this summer! :)
You are such a talented photographer, and can't believe how lovely and tidy your home is with the small children.

Baby girl looks like she's getting chubby! So cute! How do you keep your mod home so clutter free?
I remember the stories of little brother and the swimming from previous summers. Yes, he's really come a long way! ha.
I love those little puttering household chores like giving the houseplants a shower in the kitchen sink! It's work, and yet it's enjoyable and relaxing!
Sounds like an absolutely lovely summer. Enjoy Christian - you have such a beautiful family!
It sounds like a wonderful way to spend the season.
I love those red curls. You know I'm partial to girls with red curls.
I too am loving our easy going summer! Yea for Little Brother turning into a fishy! :)
I agree with you on the best sorts of dogs. I LOVE those little red curls. We have some of those (although not quite as long) around here too.
I am letting your photos prepare me for climbing to come. We're not *quite* there although little man has been standing on his own more recently and we let him eat in the booth with us at the pizza restaurant last night instead of in a high chair and he did try to climb up on the table before the food got there.
What is the name of that plant?
I do love prepping for coming adventures. So exciting for you all.
The ducky/piggie toes picture is precious. Can't wait to see what you have in store.
That fingerprint photo is priceless! Messes look so much nicer in a photograph I think. :) I have been feeling overwhelmed with mealtime messes around here.
I'm checking out colors of summer. Maybe I'll join in. Kelly
LOVE the photo of her climbing on the lower shelf by the pots. So classically, adorably toddler.
