Sweet Five

Tonight the professor and I discussed birthday gifts. He turns six next week. And, he's so excited. I feel wistful. I love five. And, I love him being five. While he savors chocolate ice cream cones I'm going to savor his fiveness, because it's just so very sweet.

I have loved reading your sweet blog... for several years, now, I guess it is! I think little brother was 2 or 3 when I began! Your beautiful photos and words are always a bright spot in my reading for the day :)
I have also enjoyed five. Caroline is only a third of the way through it, but this age is much easier in so many ways. I was thinking the other day that it's just so much fun to be able to conversations with her now. She has become a little more self-directed in terms of play which is also very helpful. And she ask SO MANY questions which I find fascinating to see what is going on in her brain! :-)
I was looking at some pictures from last spring and it's striking to me how FOUR she looks in them. The changes in just a few months are amazing. I admit to feeling more than a little wistfulness...
Ah, five, Can I say I've liked seeing your boy as five too? He is such a good five! And it is still uncanny to me that he and my nephew have such close birthdays while Strawberry Girl and my other nephew have such close birthdays! love it! Kelly
