Weekend Grace

The children spend the weekend throwing up. He mops the floor and I soothe little ones; while we change bed sheets in the midnight dark he shines a flashlight. Together we cover the carpet with beach towels and place empty trashcans next to beds. Together we cycle the endless stream of laundry. Together... this is grace. When all is quiet we fall into bed. Everyone sleeps. This, too, is grace.

Oh I'm sad you all are still sick. :( It is indeed grace that we have others to love, and ones to do the loving with. Praying for you this day.

More real life...this brings back such a feeling of exhaustion, gratitude for a dependable, gracious partner and a heavy heart for parents doing this work alone.
Those monkeys really capture how it feels, thankfully, although it seems to last forever, this too passes, those monkeys will be sitting up perkily, ready to play again.
Now, to take care of yourself, that is the hardest work of all.

Somehow you make a puking moment very romantic.

That's awesome that you could see grace in those moments! I'm not usually so good in the taking care of sick ones department. Hope everyone gets well soon!

Oh friend. Those are long nights. I am so thankful for the blessing of marriage and husbands and fathers who join us, side by side, one step at a time. Thanking God for the grace He's lavished upon you.

oh, so sorry! That bug is going around here, too! Fortunately we've been spared so far.

Wish I could bring you all chicken soup.
