That blue phone is so happy to look at. I loved reading the "three-day pep talk" phrase because I can very much relate to that right now! The afternoon cup of tea and cookie and solitude sound delightful. I find that I am craving some solitude these days. Tomorrow I will get a nice dose with the way a school schedule rearranged is working out. How exciting to be putting things in drawers! Still waiting patiently for drawers but I share in your excitement vicariously! bows! and a hat! so sweet. hmmm . . . what to add to the list . . . a good book for reading while nursing? Christian...I did the exact SAME thing! The week before LIttle Bit was due, I was like, oh yeah, I should buy diapers. Oh, baby wash, yep, that would be good to have, too. Wipes? Yes, those too. It's like you totally space out. :) I'm sure you'll think of everything, and if you forget something, i have a feeling you'll have lots of eager friends who would be happy to help you out! :) Oh - a nursing cover was QUITE handy with two curious siblings. Blessings to you and sweet baby girl!

I'd say don't worry too much about the list. If you can dress her and feed her and change her and bathe her and put her to sleep somewhere, then she's covered for the first few months.

One thing that I couldn't live without with all of my kids was a swing. My baby was just 8 months old when we moved cross-country, and she slept in her swing for the first month we were in the new house. It was a life-saver.

And I completely agree that bows are a MUST for baby girl. I also had two boys before my daughter came so I know all about the frillies. Check out Etsy for some great bows. A little something for you wouldn't hurt either! :) Like some nice smelling body wash--suave makes several---and they are cheap!! but...are so nice on those days you need a little pick me up!

I think you're doing GREAT with your list and your lazing around. You need to keep your strength up! I consider times of pregnancy and new babies sort of like crisis mode - get done what you can, don't feel guilty, and recruit help.

My favorite part of getting ready for the baby was washing and putting away the little clothes! And bows :) My girl has so many hair things they fill up a drawer and I love them - I do not stint on little girl hair things. She wants me to cut her hair right now, but I can't bear the thought of no summertime ponytails!

I must agree with the sling. I got a Hotsling for my second and I LOVE IT and he still brings it to me to carry him in sometimes (it goes up to 36 pounds). It's so small that I could wad it in the diaper bag and have another carrying and soothing option.

I also really like something to swaddle a newborn - mine slept better when swaddled. A blanket works, but a swaddler wrap is easier at 3am :)

I'll second a sling, church family can be lovely, but I remember how overtired my first baby got being passed from one person to another, and I was left with a very cranky baby that night...people don't expect a hold when bub is in a carrier. ;)
