We had 7" at my house just north of Charleston, SC. My kids were so excited...and so was my sister who lives with us. She grew up in FL so she had never seen snow in all her 22 years.

How great for you! And great that yours was packing snow (as we in the frozen north call it) for a snowman. Ours was just 4 feet of powder - we tried and tried to build snowmen and throw snowballs!

I love the picture of your son with hot chocolate. That is a fun ritual we have too after playing outside in the cold. My kids are becoming very adept with hot mugs which pleases this tea-drinker.

Very Nice!! A rare treat to be sure. Fun, fun photos! I think I'm a little jealous...the cold, cold rain we got just wasn't as fun as all that snow y'all got (or that they got just a little north of here in Dallas! 14 inches at my aunt's house!)

mehalko/Denise -- Hi! Thanks for taking the time to comment and for your kind, encouraging words. I pick up colorful, cotton kitchen towels whenever I see them at a good price; I've found them at Target, Tuesday Morning, TJ Maxx, even Kroger. Sometimes I embroider plain white or off-white linen fingertip towels which I buy at a craft/variety store in my hometown but I'm sure you can find them at Hobby Lobby or Michaels near the embroidery supplies.

Ruth -- Can you believe the snow?! I used to say that we get snow about once every 10 years, but we had a good snow last winter and another one this winter -- two years in row! The boys were thrilled yesterday, and it was fun while it lasted but it's already melted away.

Hi. I've been reading your blog for a few months and am now slowly going through the archives. Such a peaceful and gentle spirit you have. Refreshing. Here in North Texas we received close to eight inches of snow!! In eighteen years of living here, we have not seen this much. It's been beautiful and fun. And now it's oh so slowly melting. My mother shared that yesterday 49 of the 50 states had snowfall. Hawaii was the exception. I do have a question: where do you get your towels for embroidery? Blessings, Denise
